#hyrule headcanons

I have no idea if this is an ask per say, just me rambling, but here me out here. Rito... But they can just switch between Hylian (human??) features and birb features. Then you could most the time tell the difference because unlike Hylians their hair is usually bright, & the same color as their feather as birbs™ & as kids/teens they still have their distinctive blush. Then they can just- "Ooo, gotta blast" & transform. Just saying. Also hi love ya and ya blog! HYLIAN REVALI THO-

I absolutely adore this idea so much! Frankly, I just really love cool ideas about the different races.

I imagine the transformation between Hylian and Rito forms would look breathtaking, honestly. For some reason I'm thinking of when Howl became that bird-like creature in Howl's Moving Castle. (I haven't seen that movie in a very long time, forgive me). Just a slow onset of feathers growing up the body before the more prominent features (such as a beak) come in. The variation of colors! Gorgeous.

When they're Hylians and have the same color hair as their feathers, that makes me think they'd look like an anime protagonist among a group of background characters, haha.

Hylian Revali tho... He would be a very handsome man. 👀 Probably have really nice, striking emerald eyes like Zelda, and have a strong jaw. I want to believe he would have medium color skin, with freckles.

Hc: Humans have a tendency to adopt things that is not their own of sheer protective instinct, and binding habits

Like a Gurodo child that is orphan, now they have two humans parents that love them and teach them to be a strong independent woman

Some stray baby Zora? Now have a whole villagers of spear fishing and surfers teaching them how to surf

Some random Hylian teen? Taken in by a bunch of nomads and teach them alot of stuff that is ck consider orthodox for them

Gordon? Welp now they have someone to bind with,and also maybe some good trading as humans can't go to an active volcanoes or they die

Humans are very adaptable yet they do keep to themselves most of the time

I'm guessing this is like if Humans were their own race in Hyrule? Like the idea about the "Civilization of Humans" under the ground? Cause I like this!

I love the idea of Humans just being a sort of enigma. They just... Exist. They are strange. But, they're not bad. They accept anyone into their ranks. Almost like some sort of society, lol.

I feel like the human would either get sucked in the universe by ganon, links awakening, or maybe zelda in her quest to unlock her seal ability. Also imagine that humans are like fairy tale, so when the human gets sucked into the loz world everyone (especially zelda) is fascinated. "Is it true you eat people?" "Can you guys fight lynels?" "Is there a secret kingdom of humans under the earth?" Human: w-what's a lynel -concept anon

Your idea of the secret Kingdom of Humans underneath the Earth… That could fit into the lore of what we’ve seen for BOTW2… there’s obviously some form of underground ruins going on there. Maybe tales of the ancient ruins were passed down and eventually it somehow got twisted into a kingdom of Humans.

The human could very well pop in due to Zelda, or some tinkering with ancient technology went a bit too far and there was a bit of a wormhole incident.

Concept: Zelda and the human become friends cause of the Humans technology and helps her in experiments. Zelda also wants to test to see if the myths on humans are true. (Also with the headcanon that humans are smaller than hylians: every towers over the human, most people just carry human) -concept anon

I’m absolutely in love with the idea that they carry the human around. I feel like Daruk would be the go-to guy for carrying the human because not only is he able to carry regular Hylians, but he’s the ultimate protection for someone who would probably be deemed the most important being in existence if they hold information on defeating the Calamity.

As for Zelda experimenting the myths, for some reason I can picture it like the moment Zelda pushes Link off of the platform in Skyward Sword.

Helping Zelda with technology makes a lot of sense! Explaining how things work, like the camera on the Sheikah Slate, or being able to help them repurpose ancient materials into swords and other items at a faster rate. My idea is that they manage to convince them to scrap the guardians (after a lot of work) and use their materials to make powerful weapons for the Champions to use in their Divine Beasts!

Random Headcanons #3

This is a compilation of my headcanons for the heights and lifespans of Hyruleans.

I have a personal headcanon that Hyruleans are naturally stronger, taller, and... more adaptive to their situations than humans.

(Just a note: When I say Hylians, I mean the race. When I say Hyruleans, I mean the citizens of Hyrule.

Height:

Hylians

Male

Child (Ages 7-12): 5½ - 6 feet tall

Adult (Ages 17 onward): 7½ - 8 feet tall

Female

Child (Ages 7-12): 5 - 6 feet tall

Adult (Ages 17 onward): 7 - 7½ feet tall

Hylian children, for the most part, are very averagely sized. Right in the middle, if you will. But they are very prone to small growth spurts.  

Gerudo

Male (in the very rare case)

Child (Ages 7-12): 4½ - 5½ feet tall

Adult (Ages 17 onward): 8½ - 10½ feet tall

Female

Child (Ages 7-12): 4 - 5½

Adult (Ages 17 onward): 8½ - 9 ½ feet tall

The Gerudo are super small as children, but goodness do they grow fast!

Rito

Male

Child (Ages 7-12): 4½ - 5 feet tall

Adult (Ages 17 onward): 8 - 8½ feet tall

Female

Child (Ages 7 - 12): 4 - 5 feet tall

Adult (Ages 17 onward): 8 - 8½ feet tall

For the most part, male and female Rito are the same sizes on average! Males can appear taller due to how they style their feathers? Hair? They also grow similar to the Gerudo!

Zora

Male

Child (Ages 30-80): 5 - 6 feet tall

Adult (120 onwards): 10 - 11 feet tall

Female

Child (Ages 30-80): 5 - 5½ feet tall

Adult (Ages 120 onward): 9½ - 11 feet tall

For simple Zora, their sizes are also very similar between sex. For the most part, they are equal!

Royal Zora

Male

Child (Ages 30-80): 6 - 7 feet tall

Adult (Ages 120 onward): 11 - 25 feet tall

Female

Child (Ages 30 - 80): 5½ - 6 feet tall

Adult (Ages 120 onward): 11 to 17½ feet tall 

I struggled a lot with the female part. We never saw the Queen, but we saw Mipha, and she was about... 14 in Zora terms (in my opinion), and was Link’s size, if not a little taller. So I mostly thought about how tall Queen Rutela would be. I’m totally for the idea of a GIANT Zora Queen, though.

Gorons

All

Child (Ages 7 - 12): 4 - 5 feet tall

Adult (Ages 17 onward): 9 - 11½ feet tall

Gorons, for the most part, have the same lifespan as Hylians, but the resilience of the Sheikah when it comes to living long lives, lol. Also, they’re pretty big!

Sheikah

Male

Child (Ages 7-12): 5½ - 6 feet tall

Adult (Ages 17 onward): 7 - 8 feet tall  (About 5 - 6 feet tall when old)

Female

Child (Ages 7-12): 5½ - 6 feet tall

Adult (Ages 17 onward): 7 - 8½ feet tall (About 5 - 6 feet tall when old)

I think Sheikah women are taller then men at their peak, but shrink a lot when old, lol. 

Lifespans: 

Hylians:

I’d say they have average lifespans. About 80-100 years!

Gerudo:

Probably same as Hylians, maybe a bit shorter? 70-80 years?

Rito:

Similar to Sheikah, but a little younger. 80-110 years.

Zora:

Long!! Long!!!!!! 180-210 years! Maybe longer!

Gorons:

Same as Hylians! About 80-100 years!

Sheikah:

Oof. 90-135 years.

I would like to propose a headcanon! What if humans are the equivalent of dwarves to us? Like they think humans have small round ears and are ridiculously and famously stubborn but, humans are also considered a fairy tale told to children in stories and such? Idk? I just like the thought.

Humans being fairy tales to Hylians?? I love that haha! In my own version of Hyrule, the Ordonians weren’t humans, just a group of Hylians who set up a village in the outskirts of Hyrule. Although in-game, they’re said to be humans apparently… I think. But I could see humans being the topic of many fairy tale books in Hyrule in the later years!

Random Headcanon #2

Due to Hyrule’s “magical origins”, the landscape is constantly changing, thus explaining why each game’s map is never the same. The people of Hyrule only recently began to properly adapt to the constant changing.

That’s sucks a dope name yoooo I guess I should ask you something what are your thoughts on the extreme sexual dimorphism between royal male zora and literally every other zora ever and why exactly do you think male royal zora grow enormously?

I've always thought about this, and I have come up with a few hypothesis of my own.

Most likely an ancestor of the first Zora was absolutely huge, and they designated them to be their leader. The trait is passed down from the royal parent to their children, and is a dominant gene. The trait is especially pronounced in the males- Alpha Male situation.

The Zora Royal family pass down a sort of power that makes them stronger. Perhaps they were blessed? More often than not the Zora rulers have some kind of powers, or are just immensely strong.

The Royal Zora are a... subspecies? (I think that's what you could call it, I took earth sciences and promptly forgot everything) They are essentially a little different than "regular" Zora, and thus grow larger. (Not to bring back Undertale, but think how Asgore and Toriel are "Boss Monsters"- more powerful types)
