Warnings: Falling, abandoned buildings (let me know if I need to put anything else!)
Parings: Prinxiety (if you squint)
“We probably shouldn’t be doing this,” Virgil said, looking around the abandoned house, the hood of his jacket up, and his bangs covering the majority of his face..
“Oh come on, Emo Nightmare. Live a little,” Roman replied just as giddy as ever, wearing a dark red jacket unzipped and a bright white t-shirt underneath.
Virgil knew they shouldn’t be here. He and Roman lived in a neighborhood with plenty of kids and young families. Nothing much different from the other neighborhoods, except for the old house at the end of the dead-end street. There were plenty of stories and rumors that went around, telling of the horrors of the house.
However, the older kids knew the real story. They had lived through it. Everybody stayed away from that house, even the adults.
That was why Virgil didn’t want to be here. Some older kids had made a bet that they couldn’t go into the house, and Roman, his idiotic best friend, couldn’t back down from the challenge. No way was Virgil going to let his best friend get killed by his stupidity.
Though, he was regretting that decision right about now. Here they both stood, in the freezing cold that the house just seemed to produce. Virgil though he had an undershirt, a t-shirt and his hoodie on and zipped up, was still cold.
He really didn’t want to be here.
“Are you done looking around, Princy? You said we could go home after we went inside, and I’m pretty sure I have a date with my bed tonight,” Virgil said. As much as he was such a person of adventure, he really just wanted to curl up in his warm bed and listen to his music.
“I never said that, and where’s your sense of adventure? Isn’t this place cool?!” Roman said, looking excitedly around the place, almost jumping up and down in his excitement. Virgil looked incredulously at him.
“No, it’s not. It’s cold, and moldy and I’m pretty sure infested with bugs, including spiders,” Virgil tried to reason with Roman. Surely Roman knew how bad it was to be in here for any longer than you had to (which was never).
“Oh come on! I wanna go explore the place!” and with that, Roman ran up the creaky stairs. Most creaked under his weight, while some broke as soon as his foot touched them. Luckily, Roman was fast enough to not fall, but was apparently oblivious enough to not notice it.
Sighing loudly, Virgil quickly followed Roman, being mindful enough to avoid the broken steps. As much of an air-head as Roman was, Virgil didn’t want him getting hurt.
~Time Skip Because I Can~
They had at least been in the house for thirty minutes. One was already too long for Virge. It was cold, they had encountered many insects already (some dead), and it was getting dark.
Suddenly, Virgil heard a crack in front of him. Roman was so focused looking at an old painting that was mostly degraded that he didn’t seem to notice that one of the boards he was standing on was close to cracking.
Moving quickly, Virgil quickly pushed Roman to the side enough that when the board cracked, he was safe. However, Virgil didn’t realize where he was in enough time. When the board cracked underneath his feet, his whole body dropped until he hit the first floor with a thud.
Roman quickly moved downstairs, minding the cracked and broken bits of the floor until he reached Virgil. Roman checked his pulse, and upon seeing that he was alive, let out a breath before gently shaking Virgil, trying to get him to open his eyes.
Virgil groaned, his eyes fluttering open. Roman gently helped him lean up, half stabilizing him by letting Virgil lean on Roman’s chest.
“Are you alright, Virge? Jeez. Don’t scare me like that! You almost gave me a heart attack,” Roman said, frantically, worry in his voice. Virgil rubbed the back of his head before replying to Roman.
“Yeah. I’m good, Princy. Good thing I was there, huh.? I told you to be careful.” Roman looked sheepish at what Virgil said, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Sorry..”Roman apologize.
“It’s all good now. Just please be careful in the future.”
“Okay. Now, let’s go to my house. My parents are usually out of the house, so we can just watch movies and eat junk food.” Roman said, looking towards Virgil with a grin on his face.
“Sounds good to me.” Virgil said. As soon as he said that, Roman picked him up in a bridal carry, and Virgil yelped.
“You know I can walk, right?!” Virgil said, a blush on his cheeks.
“Yeah, but you almost got hurt. I can at least do this for you.” Roman said. Virgil didn’t reply, but that could be due to the fact that he buried his face into Roman’s chest to the ever darkening blush.
