Where would your dream vacation be and why?

I’d love to go to somewhere abroad one of these days. I’m really humbled by the fact that I’ve never been out of the United States, compared to so many people, both IRL and online, who have gotten the chance to expand their horizons, and I would love to change that. Obviously, Ireland or England would be at the top of my list, since I really, really would like to see some of the places I’ve read so much about. I would love to retrace some of my favorite places from Irish myth, for example, pay my respects to Bres at Mizen Head, where he died according to legend. I’ve spent so long working on him, and I feel like I almost owe him a debt of gratitude since my paper on him got me my BA.
Or go to France and see Versailles for myself, possibly catch a musical, go the Louvres and catch some of the other cool exhibits there while everyone swarms towards the Mona Lisa. (My ULTIMATE dream would be attending the masquerade ball they throw yearly at Versailles.) Break into the Biblioteque Nationale for the Forbidden Papers on Pierre-Francois Rivierre du Puget, since Gallica hasn’t digitilized it yet.
I would love to go to Japan for a little while, if my Japanese ever improves beyond the very, very basic. (”Hello, I am a dumb gaijin. Please help me.”) After this long, I would love to see a Toho or Takarazuka show in person. Scope out some of the nice merchandise for myself. There are so many fantastic attractions in Tokyo alone that it would be FANTASTIC just to look. (Are all my decisions for dream travel destinations decided by my favorite musicals? Possibly.)
