my toxic trait is that whenever I play a game I really like there’s a part of me that goes “I’m a programmer. If I dedicated myself I could make something cool like this.” but then I never have the energy or focus or time to actually even attempt to do so
#and all of it is also very ambitious of course#so there’s the added issue of which multi-year project I would most want to pursue out of all of them#along with the fear that I feel as soon as I pick one I’m going to be stuck with it. what if I make it and people like it? then that would#just be my thing. I would be the that thing developer.#if I make an ongoing project that people enjoy and release it I feel I must immediately forfeit all other ideas I have#though of course that is quite presumptious on the idea that I would ever actually finish anything. or have people actually enjoy anything#I create.#but yeah. just. fun.#I think my main issue is I really need to figure out a less ambitious thing for my first big project but scope creep is a bitch#dramon thoughts
