BUZZFEED IN ONE GIF
Send in 🎉to find out what role my muse plays in a friend group (for both the Am-bros and the mun)
Mun: “You're the dad of your friend group. You're a lovable grump, constantly torn between the fact that you hate people but love your friends. Whenever anyone suggests a friend activity, you are always the one who suggests staying in with a beer or a nice scotch. You will show up to a party, but you won't be happy about it. Other dads: Ron Swanson, Daryl Dixon.”
Except for the bit about beer and scotch, because I hate alcohol and can’t drink it without some careful planning and only very specific drinks, yeah pretty much. Introversion, whee.
Leon: “You're the middle sibling of your friend group: You are probably best friends with the mom, partly because you always reply to everyone's texts and emails. You're a dreamer, and while haters may call you naive, you're really just idealistic and SUPER underestimated. Other middle siblings: Tina Belcher, Shoshanna from "Girls."
Ehhhhh... I blame a lot of this on the quiz itself being geared heavily toward pop culture references, many of which I don’t get.
Terry: “The Dad“ again. Doesn’t really fit him, though. Terry is a big boisterous idiot when he’s with his buddies, and is the kind of guy to get absolutely smashed and go bathtub bobsledding on a hill. Dumb fun is his kind of fun, doubly so if it’s drunken dumb fun. He likes being around people when he’s sure they’re not basically his enemies.
He’s painfully smart and that makes it hard for him to connect with a lot of people, so he does so carefully.
This buzzfeed article gave me diarrhea
JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT WHITE DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE IMMUNE TO SUNBURNS AND OTHER SIN RELATED SKIN DISEASES!!!!
"The sun is your friend" is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. A July 2016 study in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology showed melanoma (AKA skin cancer) is more deadly in people of color. The statistic shows that while the national average melanoma survival rate is 93%, whereas the survival rate for African Americans is only 69%. Melanoma is 24% more deadly in African Americans than it is the national average of all races. This is for a few reasons.
People and organizations like Buzzfeed don't know what the hell they're talking about and push the sentiment that black and darker skinned people don't need to wear sunscreen because they're already dark, that the sun could not possibly have any harmful effect on them.
It is diagnosed later due to the fact that people of colour are less likely to notice and recognize the symptoms of melanoma and thus are less likely to get it checked out until it has actually progressed past the relatively-safe stage.
Of a group of African Americans tasking a survey on their health, 63 percent of them said they have never used sunscreen. It is clear that people of color do not all fully understand their own link to skin cancer and the sun’s UV rays either, just like buzzfeed. SUNSCREEN IS ESSENTIAL FOR ALL RACES WHENEVER ONE IS IN A SUNNY LOCATION, NOT JUST AT THE BEACH FOR THOSE WHO ARE PALE ENOUGH TO BURN EASILY.
African Americans are more susceptible to a type of melanoma called acral lentiginous melanoma (ALM) which is a type of Non-sun related skin cancer. It appears typically on the palms of the hands and feet, and is actually the type of cancer that killed Bob Marley.
It is so important for people to understand the lasting effects of not wearing sunscreen and putting their own physical health on the back burner. This is not to say that all people of colour do this, but it is clear that many do not understand the negative impacts of UV rays and many need to learn more about the extremely harmful and negative effects of skin cancer even on those with darker skin tones. Awareness needs to be raised in this particular subject, as it appears to be clearly lacking in both funding and support.
It’s crucial to detect skin cancer early, when it is easiest to treat and most likely to be cured. Dr. Perez says she advises people of all ethnicities to do a monthly skin self-exam and see a dermatologist annually — and sooner if any of the warning signs appear:
A bump, patch, sore or growth that bleeds, oozes, crusts, doesn’t heal or lasts longer than a month. This may indicate basal cell carcinoma.
An ulcer, scaly red patch, wart-like growth or sore that sometimes crusts or bleeds could be a sign of squamous cell carcinoma. This type of skin cancer can also develop in old scars or areas of previous physical trauma or inflammation.
New or existing moles that are asymmetrical, have an irregular border, more than one color, are larger than a pencil eraser or change in any way may indicate melanoma. Pay special attention to suspicious spots on the hands, soles of the feet or under the nails, which could signify ALM.

Buzzfeed is literally the worst thing to ever happen to the internet tbh but that doesn't stop me from taking a quizz to find out when I'll get married according to my favorite minimalist/hipster home decor that I would never actually be able to afford.
