it’s always the hetslop dramione fics too like can we stop giving more attention to rowling.. i know they change the names and everything but even then, the publishers market it as dramione fanfics so it still benefits rowling lol

no exactly it’s so bad and it often just straight up doesnt work because fanfiction is going off the assumption you already love and know the character so often there’s little to no attempt to build that kind of bond with readers even when they publish it. reworking the universe for it to not be straight up plagiarism also doesn’t work because it would need an in depth editing process which publishing house refuse because the appeal for readers is that it Is a fanfiction. all in all it makes up for bad books. and yeah i think atyd is going to get published which i’m sure will fall extremely flat despite it being a very good fanfiction—even if i hate what it did to the characterization for the fandom
