Reasons to live- Need to apply for being SQH's assistant. My baby needs some help
Feeling like an adult (literally just applying for my passport lol)
Bureaucracy. I hate you profoundly
Paperwork needs to distinguish between physical time and experienced time
Physical time can be five minutes physically but experienced time is like 2hrs
Ew
stress doodles from recent appointments
normalize replying to emails with another email. i didn't choose the comfort of email writing just so you could leave a vocal note asking me to call you back.
What was the initial plan for storming Katolis Castle? I’d like some detailed answers so: Were you all going to scale the wall? Would you have come up from the balcony? How were y’all planning on escaping? Also, why did you need six people. Wouldn’t the mission have been just as effective with, say, one or two people?
You’d like some detailed answers? *sassy horn tip* By all means, then, let me spill all my Moonshadow tactical secrets for you. no i’m going to, my first plan doesn’t matter now
Firstly, there was never any “storming” in the original plan. My assassins’ strength is their stealth, not their bravado. We are as dark and quiet as shadows. If no one had known we were coming, there would never have been any need to “escape,” either, because no one would have known we were there at all until the next morning, when someone would’ve found King Harrow sprouting one of my arrows from his heart.
A full Moon is highest at midnight, not just after dusk. And the deadliest shadow is the one that was already behind you before you began shining your light. We moved to the castle at dusk to wait for high moon. Our initial plan was to use the balcony for both ingress and egress. Scaling it would not have posed any difficulty. We live in an old growth forest. Climbing vertical cylinders is one of the first skills we learn, and hopping around on the castle roof was, as you saw, entirely manageable even for my 15-year-old protégé. Once the Moon was high, my team would strike and then retreat silently, and be miles away by dawn.
My team needed six assassins because I added Rayla to the usual five. She was determined to come with me, but she’s still inexperienced. I wasn’t going to swap her for an assassin twice her age. Five is a traditional number: one assassin defending Xadia for every elf tribe it holds. We’re stronger as five than we are one by one.
So, there you have it, a mission report that I’ll never have to deliver. Which is fine by me. I hate paperwork.
