I hate trying to look up the word pride any more. I want aesthetics or demons or something, but no. No, I get LGBT pride. I get black pride. I get images of pride that shouldn't exist because your skin color and who you fuck shouldn't be something prideful. You were born, congratulations. You haven't achieved anything because of those things. Be proud of your heritage, of yourself, of being happy, but don't sit there and act like your skin or sexuality is some massive, amazing thing to flaunt and be proud of. It isn't. It's just one teeny tiny aspect of who you are, and if those minor things are the most interesting thing about you, you're boring and need a personality.

I suppose I should have gone to the Pride events that the church participated in over the weekend, but I don’t know if it’s just where I live, but Pride has been defanged beyond recognition. There were even regulations sent out, from this one, saying that it was ‘not meant to be a political event’. It was a bunch of florists, jewellers, bakers, banks, and what have you, handing out free stuff and business cards to affluent, white same-sex couples. The battle has been won (for them)! Then, I am told, if you turned a corner, you got into the less nice part of the square, where there was a sign hanging up saying that 70% of trans people have considered suicide at some point in their lives.  That’s why I hate Pride. It’s a nice, non-offensive way to advertise, and ignore the discomfort that is the people who are actually hurting.

Yeah I'm done going through the Christianity tag. There's too much bashing. I'm so done with pretentious people (Christian and Atheist and whatever religion you may be). Pride is not cool on anyone. I should know, I look in the mirror.
