Snotlout wanting to Critique his dad in Team Astrid is amazing but I also love Astrid and Hiccup dealing with it.

Astrid being all smug about the spine shot and then making him do push-ups just cause he’s Snotlouts dad (and yes it could be interpreted as her punishing him cause Snotlout annoys her but I think it’s cause she knows how shitty Spitelout is to him)

And I know Hiccup denies him from staying to make fun of his dad (I love how emotional he is being like ‘The world owes me this! This is Snotlouts!’) but I like to think that Hiccup was trying to protect him. He knows Spitelout still has a major effect on Snotlout and could definitely hurt him as a result. I think Hiccup was ensuring his didn’t do anything rash while his emotions were intense.

Hc that even though Gothi can’t stand how rude Snotlout can be she feels bad for him.

She is a quiet observer and has seen how Spitelout treats him and once she realizes it isn’t just tough love and is actually abuse she is furious.

She gives Spitelout dirty looks in the market and if he comes to her for help she “accidentally” uses poison ivy instead of the right herb and she might “accidentally” knock him over.

She is the complete opposite for Snotlout she is always extra gentle when treating him and might slip him some treats after she finishes helping him.

He isn’t the brightest so he doesn’t realize and just thinks “huh I forgot putting that in my pocket” but it always makes him a little happier.

Some snot out angst to feed the hungry?

Aight aight here’s something real quick I came up with

I think Snotlout really enjoys physical touch. Tbh maybe he’s even a tad touch starved. As a little boy-o he used to get a lot of physical love from Spitelout, stuff like hugs, hair ruffles and all that cutsey shit.

As Snotlout grew older, Spitelout thought that giving Snotlout any sort of love would weaken him. So he made Snotlout feel embarrassed to even ask for any sort of physical affection. Snotlout was lucky enough, that his mum is a really big fan of cuddling and hugs though (they canonically cuddle its so cute).

If any person who isn’t Snotlout’s mum tries to give him any sort of physical affection, he gets really embarrassed and uncomfortable, because he thinks that it’s weak and that he doesn’t deserve it. At the same time he so badly craves it, that he uses small gestures like using someone as arm rest, or giving like a little slap on the back to still have any physical interaction with others.

Snotlout angst ✨

I’ve got sm Snotlout angst on my mind so I shall share it! Also these can be seen as writing prompts if anyone needs some inspo :D

• I’d like to think, that Spitelout and Snotlout were really close when Snotlout was still very little, but as Snotlout grew older, so did the standards Spitelout had for him

•After a long day of dealing with Spitelout talking down to him, Snotlout wouldn’t be able to handle any more degrading words, not even jokes from anyone. Back in dragons edge someone made a remark at Snotlout and he just got so upset, that he just continuously told everyone to back of and to shut up, with tears in his eyes. He’d shut everyone off for the rest of the day.

• Snotlout finally gives up trying to impress his father and tries to keep him out of his life. After realising that Snotlout actually meant it, Spitelout acts nicer around him, trying to get his son back and once Snotlout forgives him, Spitelout goes back to how he used to act *cough cough* like an absolute arse *cough cough*.

• Fishlegs and Snotlout got into a really big fight and that time Fishlegs was really on the wrong. Nobody really knew what happened, but they all went to comfort Fishlegs instead of Snotlout, cause everyone just assumed that Snotlout was in the wrong. This caused Snotlout to think that he was actually in the wrong, making him feel like he is a bad person. (Kinda ooc vibes but I’d like to see this as miscommunication)

Aight thats it for now ^^ I’ll probably do other small headcanon things with Snotlout or even other characters
