It’s three weeks since Blaise deBeste’s trial, and a much shorter time since Phoenix Wright, one of the best men he knew, had been disbarred.
It’s still something that needs more time to sink into Miles’ mind, for him to come to terms with it.
There were too many people in need of help recently - Kay, Sebastian, Phoenix... if he thought about it like that, it all seemed too big.
Yet Kay at least had some idea of how to go about sorting her own life out, and he merely needed to provide her with the support she needed in order to do so.
It was Sebastian and Phoenix who were the ones he worried about. Sebastian, who had suffered such shocks to his system, and Phoenix, who now had no job, no respect, and a... daughter.
Miles knew he had to take things one step at a time.
He would ensure that, as promised, Sebastian would no longer feel that he had to stand on his own or not at all. He would be there to provide encouragement; and if necessary, as much protection against the rumour mill that he could. Phoenix was more difficult; the man was a stubborn idiot, and proud to boot.
The most he could do, really, was to be the guardian in the shadows, pulling strings - hopefully, the opposite of Sebastian’s father. Someone who could... protect the people who needed protection, and at the same time push them to be the best they could be.
