Okay, so I’m gonna preface this with a note that this is going to come off as pretty fucking damned basic or like I’m really reaching. John isn’t really abnormal in any physical sense. That’s the point. Handsome as he is, John is supposed to come off as an everyman and even somewhat forgettable. Some of this could be magic, a kind of glamour to minimize his recognizability in a crowd or to someone he’s conning, but for the most part, I think it’s mostly natural. Handsome enough to attract but not so attractive to be unforgettable.
Unless you look into his eyes. You never forget his eyes, and I guess that’s where we’re starting.
– John has extremely brilliant eyes. They’re bright and electric blue, ferociously intelligent and deep as the ocean.
– He has a massive presence. Even people that aren’t particularly sensitive would pick up on it but call it charisma.
– A tendency to stare seemingly unfocused into the distance. He’s usually seeing a spirit during these times, or perhaps hearing a voice.
– You’d think he smells of cigarette smoke, but he he usually smells more like sage because it’s one of the things that’s always in his coat pocket.
– He often hums to himself, often on of Mucous Membrane’s old songs.
