What’s a Looney Tunes?

quietly passes him a candy bar. he bought more than he really wanted, and maybe it's... sort of a peace offering. maybe. or an attempt at one.

For whatever reason, his body seizes and refuses to respond to the ringing in his ears. Vision tunnels on the movement of hands as they reach for something and Ritsu doesn’t even understand why he’s that afraid. 

The esper didn’t need anything physical to hurt him━ but it suddenly occurs to him it’d make it easier to escape prosecution. 

A hand comes towards him and Ritsu flinches, tells his brother he’s sorry in a whisper, and squeezes his eyes shut.

Nothing happens for a few beats, silent aside from his own stuttered breathing which sounds far too loud now. It’s tempting to simply wait like he’d done as a child ; close your eyes and wait for the bad things to disappear, but he’s too old for that and morbid curiosity makes him crack open an eye.

… it’s a chocolate bar, held out like some type of offering.

… for him ?

     ❝ H-How– I-- Idon’tlikecandy━ ❞ His shoestring came loose as he twisted on his heel fast enough to step on it, but he didn’t look back as he stumbled and took off in the direction he’d come from.
