‘Haven’t you learned your lesson’ was on the edge of his tongue, and yet -- the very second something'd been shoved his way as a distraction he’d hesitated. It wasn’t like him to compromise so easily, wasn’t like him to bite down on his brutality and swift temper, but most would say others deserved a second chance, and Arjuna -- the hero, the prince of fortune and wealth and gradually losing sight of his faultlessness the longer he tried to maintain it -- couldn’t help but give in to that somber expression if only for a moment.
He’d had nothing better to do, in any case -- no immediate duties to tend to, no need to train when he’d already perfected so much.
Arjuna would hear out Rider and determine whether he clearly understood. He’d hear him out, and excuse himself if it seemed too troublesome.
“... this is messy. Good, but so... ” He struggled for the words, licking timidly at strawberry creme dripping haphazardly towards the crease between his finger and thumb. “Not to mention overly sweet, which I’m not fairly accustomed to. It’s... pleasant. Still, thank you.. for introducing me to, well... this.”
