Ok I’m sure a ton of people have already thought of this but... What if Lardo was holding out hope that Shitty would go to Samwell’s Law School? She knows it’s not the prestigious law schools that his family wanted him to go to, but hey when did Shitty do what his family wanted? And it’s not that she didn’t want him to get into Harvard, not exactly. It’s just... well she knew if he got in, there’s no way he would pick Samwell. Samwell was just a place. Sure he had friends here at Samwell, but not.... nothing more than that.
So Shitty getting into Harvard crushes that last hope that she was clinging to. That last reason she was able to keep joking about graduation and bringing it up. But now that Shitty would be moving away to Harvard... Lardo can’t deal. She can’t lose both her best friends and her last thin hope that maybe maybe she wouldn’t lose them both. Gone.
So screw art shows, she needs some goddamn air.
