Of all the Gen X nostalgia Stranger Things has been surfing on, I’m really glad they emphasised how much dedication it took to listen to your favourite song on repeat. First you had to go through the fastidious process of recording it in a loop on a cassette and you’d still eventually have to rewind the whole thing (unless you had one of those fancy autoreverse Walkman). I won’t say that kids nowadays don’t know, but kids nowadays definitely don’t know.
