So my mandatory religion class moves ridiculously slow.
I pay attention to the first and last five minutes, and that is quite enough.
So today I was thinking about how lucky I am that I have always had a fairly decent opinion of myself. Okay, sure I've struggled with clinical depression for most of my life and first tried to kill myself in elementary school, but even during the deepest depths of my self-loathing, I didn't really hate myself, I hated the choices I made. I've never thought that I'm ugly, though I don't consider myself photogenic. I think I could stand to lose a few pounds but not because I think a bit of flab is unattractive, but because I like the feeling of muscle and of being in shape. I think I'm a fairly moral, intelligent person, and I'd like to think that I'm pretty empathetic, and in general a nice person.
It makes me sad that other people can't see themselves in the same light, because people are mostly beautiful in my eyes. If what people say and put on the internet about how they see themselves is true, then a depressed college student in a major with no future prospects who sometimes can't move because of self-loathing is one of the most optimistic people on Earth. And that's just weird.
And then I thought about dragons.
