I spent the better part of the whole day away from my phone, and can I just say- wow. It was so nice. After the events of last week with the CMD interview and then the aftermath it was a nice break.
I also finally did my half marathon race that I’ve been training for!!! I broke my PR too (since it was my first official half marathon)
So as a little treat here is a snippet of chapter 6 of TDAS!
A waft of cinnamon and pine filled her senses as she turned toward the wardrobe. She shouldn’t. She really shouldn’t, but would he notice?
Edging closer, she slowly pulled the partially open door. Strangely enough this was where his cursed scent hit her the strongest. Elain immediately wished she had brought along the jacket hidden in the back of her closet, the one that had long ago lost the smell of him. Perhaps she could get away with swapping it for another.
But that had nothing to do with him of course. She just liked the smell- cinnamon was one of her favorite spices. Memories from before her mother died clogged her senses. She could smell the apple strudels baking, could taste the sweetness of the pumpkin pie on her tongue. If only she knew how the cooks made them. Was there was a recipe book she could find in some book store in Velaris? It was a better option than asking her Autumn Court mate.
Excitement buzzed through her as she came out of her wayward thoughts, thinking of all the new recipes, not noticing until a moment too late that she was inhaling one of his shirts.
“Shit!”
She flushed, quickly throwing what used to be a pressed white tunic to the floor. “Enough of that. Time to go.”
