Her movements come to a halt, Starlight's words come like a bucket of ice-cold water dropping on top of her. She couldn't hold it against her blonde comrade, no. Because she was calling it as she saw it. A heroic woman, stoic, uncaring... She simply did not care, not enough, not at all... That's what she saw, she assumed.
Even now, as she tried aiding her, as she attempted to care for that scrapped knee after a tussle between 'bad guys,' she probably still seemed so detached. The blues of her eyes couldn't hide it, the worry, and the disappointment in herself despite the hardened exterior.
"You're... one of my companions. How am I supposed to not care? I mean, fuck, if they beat you enough to leave an open wound -- regardless of how small, this is serious." And though she is trying.... God, she truly is trying to sound as worried as she is... It's not working, she can't find it in herself to show that weakness, not right now. She pushes strands of red away in frustration. "If you didn't want my help, you could've said it in a less bitchy way, you know? I would've been out of your hair in seconds. Now, you have to put up with it."
