@thotstochter - you wanted to know my opinion on “Gesang der toten Dinge”; I thought I might as well tell it to all and sundry: Miro Nemec is right, it’s terrible. It’s messy and doesn’t really seem to know what it’s going for, and also a few of the characters were so over the top that I wasn’t sure if they were supposed to be played like that or if the actors were just really crap. And those eso people didn’t come off as eso so much as they came off as just plain dumb most of the time. And it got trippy, and not in a good way, because it didn’t end up making sense. Also, there were TWO effing actors who reappeared within a YEAR in Tatort München playing not even much different characters and just getting different names slapped on them. Ugh, German acting industry. Fucking get some variety.

BUT

I had the same effect kicking in that @fanpersoningfox had for the ever-awful “Sechs zum Essen”: The episode is bullshit, but I found it highly entertaining. Here’s why:

- Ivo as dog dad. I dunno, it has the same effect on me as Ivo with kitty babies or Franz with lamb baby - makes me go d’aaawwww

- Ivo and Franz both being huge dorks all the time; perhaps Wachtveitl and Nemec just couldn’t take the script seriously and compensated that way

- Ivo with glasses! Franz, why you motion him to take them off? He looks like a stern/sexy/stuffy law professor with ‘em, but perhaps that’s too distracting

- the Swiss gal - I know she’s just one of those only-for-one-episode assistants, but I really liked her! She’s cute and sassy and smart, and both Franz and Ivo were integrating her well as part of the team, being sweet and comradely and bossy in the same way they’re later with Kalli. Also, yay for dialect diversity!

And then there’s Ivo and Franz being So. Damn. Married.

- arguments about “leave the dog in the car” and “you can take him for a walk later” etc.

- Ivo calling Franz in the middle of the night after having a nightmare and being like “get your ass out of bed!” and Franz’ so-done-with-this reaction

- Franz, perfectly casually, calling Ivo “Liebling”. No, really, he did. I dead.
