“Hello there!”
Chin up, eyes forward. The young aristocrat knew better than to let herself falter before another, no matter how imposing they might have been. She had come too far; trained too much. She wasn’t that scared, bullied little girl anymore. Her chest swelled as she inhaled deeply, hands shifting to her hips in a (rather unnecessary) show of defiance. For a moment she stared the other down, uncertain of how to present herself... and in that moment, her eyes shimmered with the slightest bit of panic, before she suddenly blustered.
“My name is Mimi Houllier von Schwarzlang, and you had better remember it!!” There it was again, that fragile, empty sense of pride. She knew, of course. Deep down inside, she knew that her noble blood meant practically nothing when anyone with enough coin could achieve the same status. But, it was all she really had to embolden herself... It was all she had left of ‘her.’ So, when her only saving grace fell on deaf ears, the girl’s insecurities roiled in the pit of her stomach, gnawing and biting. Mimi glared long and hard at the other, neatly-groomed brows furrowing as those selfsame insecurities slipped past her lips. “What’s with that stupid look on your face..?! Have you seriously not heard of my family before? Unbelievable!”
