task 001 → letter to no one

Hey mom!

How are you? How’s Dylan? And John and Tav? I miss you guys a lot. I hope you’re having fun in Spain, but not too much fun without me. I wish I could be there with you but rock-climbing calls. You know how attached I am to this camp. It’s like a second home now.

I’m really happy. Some days I barely remember that I’m half a person. My leg feels real most days but then I get an itch that I can’t scratch. Those days are difficult. But then I climb the wall or I take a nap or I write to you. Then I suck it up. I file the thoughts away into the back in my mind but I don’t forget. I can’t.

But enough about the sad stuff. I think my students like me. They think I’m really good, climbing to the top and flying back down. I love it. I feel so free, so alive. I wish I could climb and climb forever. Maybe I’ll just work at this camp forever and ever. Perhaps I should just find a permanent job where I can climb rock walls. Work at a gym or a water park or a leisure centre. It wouldn’t be good pay but I’d enjoy it.

Anyways, I’m rambling a bit. I’ll see you at the end of the month. Have fun and give everyone my love.
