okay, I'm extra as fuck, so I made a couple? So...
[Initial comment - Face choice because of the Eyes, he has the right hair and eyecolour, but like, generally, the whole wide puppy eyes thing with him is so fitting]
Emo Leaning Teen with an interesting relationship with religion because of their dad <3
August Young, a rebelling teen, who enjoying his parties, occasional fights, cigarettes and writing
April Young - The Canon Girl <3 Love her <3
Additional Gender swap thoughts:
I do think he had a slight crush on Elena, maybe even one that shifted to Jeremy when Elena was babysitting him, which is what led to him trying to start his writing, but did genuinely continue to enjoy it. (tbf, this is a headcanon/thought that can be for April as well)
Rebekah/August would start slightly faster, though, I do think they would start as a level of friends. Him just being nice/calm, and Rebekahs not seeing that often, its why she liked Matt. And August isn't also vaguely hateful because she's a vampire. Gives an interesting mix of them dating before finding out she's a vampire and the mfg being a lil judgemental and trying to protect him.
I do think Jeremy and Matt would have tried to hit about it all more obviously then canon situation, or just straight told him faster.
I think there would be an interesting moment of betrayal with the lies for Rebekah when he finally finds out she's a vampire. "I knew people were lying to me, but I didn't think YOU would." Although, quickly helped with Rebekah going full explain mode about it all.
Klaus would HATE him. So so so much.

August/Rebekah
"He started to like her because she actually explained the truth, and it seemed people were lying to Him, but they we also Hurting Her. But now he also can't stop thinking about her eyes, he'd gladly let her feed from him til he was dizzy if it keeps her attention on him. Thankfully, she never did."
April/Rebekah
April knew she was dangerous, she'd learned that fast, likely even before she saw her break Elena's neck with a smile. But she still really liked her, and it seemed Rebekah to be the same.
❝ afternoon , ❞ he greeted as he walked into the room , gaze landing on the person in question. he'd only been on shift for a couple of hours , and , as expected , there was a decent chunk of foot traffic. it wasn't anything felix wasn't already accustomed to , and he was quite certain it could've been a lot more chaotic. the patient in question didn't look too horrible , which he chose to take as a good sign. however , he'd need them to confirm that. people came to the er for all sorts of reasons , something that was not lost on him. ❝ how are you feeling ? ❞ felix questioned , his gaze never leaving the other.
And here is my final set of character designs for my portfolio class! Honestly, I'm really happy with how these turned out :) I feel that may be partly bc the style is quite simple but it's still a win in my book! Also Merry Christmas and happy holidays folks !
I'm the worst because I can't decide if I want to dress like a walking Ace flag, or a Christmas tree, and I'll spend all my time figuring out which outfit and how......
"You're so wholesome," Bailey says, making doe eyes at John. "It was the first thing that attracted me to you."
"The first thing? Not my rugged good looks?"
Everyone at the table laughs except John and Bailey. "Those too, immediately after, sweetie."
Angela rolls her eyes and Tim scoffs — it's goodnatured now, and Lucy finds herself impressed at how Tim's softened up to John over time, how the two have developed something of a friendship. Still, Lucy elbows him lightly. "Be nice," she says, for his ears alone.
"Rugged good looks?" he says, likely louder than he really meant to.
John plays along gamely, because of course he would, and gestures to his face. "Mostly rugged. As opposed to, you know," he gestures at Tim's face, "the model thing you've got going on there. Women tend go for that."
There are a couple of pointed looks being shot from around the table, and Lucy feels very much like she's the target. Considering her unnecessary but very current hyper-proximity to Tim, she can't exactly claim innocence.
"I like my men a little more fresh-faced," Angela offers, patting Wesley on the cheek, then following it up with a public-spaces appropriate kiss.
"Good looks aside, the steely glare and razor jaw line never did much for me before," Lucy admits, then realizes what she's said. She feels herself flush instantly. She's have been fine, if only she hadn't added the before. And said it in that tone of voice. Beside her, Tim chuckles. And mostly, at the table, nobody reacts.
She's got to make it better. He knows he's attractive. Hell, everybody knows he's attractive. It doesn't mean anything that she thinks he's attractive.
She crafts her words carefully, intent not to babble. Unfortunately, in her attempt to be concise, she misses cover (and subtlety) entirely. "I'm just saying I'd have fallen for him anyway."
