You wake up early in the morning, the soft light creeping in through the crack in your curtains. Beside you, the bed is empty, except for a small note, left on the pillow.
With one eye still closed, you take hold of the note and read it through one squinting eye:

You roll back over, hoping to fall back asleep for a few hours, but you feel a sharp twinge in your ankle when your leg twists in the sheets. Oh, shit. You remember running on the beach last night after leaving the bonfire. You, Taylor, and a few of the other girls had been dancing together to some quiet music playing out of someone's phone. You do remember twisting your ankle, and it had hurt a little bit on the walk home later, but you didn't think it was too bad.
You sigh, and try to fall asleep again. You'll deal with the ankle later. You stare at the ceiling for a while, but sleep won't come, and every time you turn, you feel the pull in your ankle.
You sit up in bed, and pull aside the covers to take a look, but you quickly cover it again once you catch sight of it. Purple, swollen. Maybe it's from moving, or maybe it's in your head just because you saw it, but it feels like it's throbbing now. You sprained your ankle a few years ago playing softball, and you try to remember what that felt like. Is this the same? It's hard to tell.
You lie back in the bed and try to think. You definitely need to take some Ibuprofen, but you're not sure if you can stand on your foot. Your mother is out of town for her book tour, and Steven, Jeremiah, and Conrad are on a fishing trip they've planned for ages. You're home alone, and Taylor always runs with Do Not Disturb on because she doesn't want anyone "ruining her flow".
You lie there for a while, trying to hype yourself up to walk on it, when you hear someone walking around on the main floor. A little unsettling, because you're pretty sure nobody else should be here, but you take the chance:
"Hello?" you call out, loud and clear.
"Y/N?" Conrad's voice calls out in response.
Relief washes over you. There is not one person you would have been happier to hear in this moment than Mr. Med Student himself. You take a deep breath to steady yourself, preparing for the oncoming embarrassment.
"Conrad," you call, trying and failing to be cool and calm, "can you come here?"
You hear him taking the steps two at a time, hurrying. When his face appears in the door, you see his pure concern for only a moment before a hint of amusement creeps in, the corners of his mouth curling just a touch.
"Can you get me some Ibuprofen?" you mumble, voice sad and small.
He chuckles, "that kinda night, huh? You want a Gatorade too? I think we have a few."
You groan, "I'm not hungover, asshole. I .... hurt my ankle."
His amusement falters, and he takes a step into the room.
"Can I see it?" he is frozen in place, waiting for an answer before he moves any further.
You quietly and carefully move the blanket again, trying not to look at it. You focus on Conrad's face, focusing on keeping your breathing slow and even.
His face falls, and he crosses the room quickly, reaching a hand out, but not yet touching.
"Y/N ... this looks really bad. Can I touch it?"
You nod silently, not breaking his gaze.
He gingerly presses two fingers to the swollen spot, watching your face for your response. He carefully takes your ankle in his hands and turns it, freezing when you flinch in pain.
"I think it's sprained. I'll be right back." He stands abruptly and hurries out of the room. He returns with a water bottle, an ice pack, and a towel, placing it all on the bed beside you. He hands you the water bottle and a bottle of Ibuprofen from his pocket, and gets to work laying out the towel under your ankle and wrapping the fancy ice pack around it. He's careful to nudge as little as possible, intensely watching your face for signs of pain.
"I imagine you sprained it pretty late in the night," he comments, after a long silence, "so we're going to do ice now, and then we'll switch to heat later today. Are you hungry?"
"I thought you were supposed to be fishing." you remark.
"I was," he explains, "but my flight back from the conference got delayed, so I told them to go without me. We'll go again later this summer."
"I'm sorry." you tell him, not sure what else to say.
He shrugs, and asks again, "Are you hungry?"
You picture him, coming in this morning off of his delayed flight, tired and sore after maybe sleeping at the airport, disappointed about missing his trip, just to flit around the house grabbing things for you, even cooking. The thought makes your heart ache.
"If you could just grab me some pop tarts or something."
He rolls his eyes, and you wonder how much trouble this whole thing is going to be. "I'll be back," he reassures you, slipping out of the room. He pops his head back in, a smirk on his face. "Don't go anywhere!" he says quickly before disappearing again, laughing lightly.
He returns with a tray, and you're relieved to see nothing that takes an unreasonable effort. A dirt bomb, some fruit, and a huge mug of coffee, which you reach for immediately. He sits gently on the end of the bed, watching you carefully. After what feels like an eternity, he clears his throat to ask "Can I get you anything else?"
You want to say no, but you pause, worried that when you do, he'll leave you to yourself. You rack your brain for an excuse to ask him to stay...
"Could you pass me my book, from the dresser?"
"Are you sure you can read in this state?" He grins as he takes the book from your dresser, flipping it open to a random page and scanning it, "Or do you need me to read to you?"
Heat creeps up your neck, and your face feels hot. You hadn't considered that he'd open up the book, and you're instantly embarrassed by whatever he is so captivated by right now.
"Y/N," he teases, placing a hand to his chest, clutching imaginary pearls, "is this a smutty beach romance?"

See, the true secret to how I do rosettes so well is that I was a 2000's kid and cheetah print was suuuuper trendy when I was little... so I taught myself how to paint cheetah print on my nails. Right now I'm at moon 48, so that would be around 13 moons ahead of the most recent page!
I've mentioned before that I usually play around 6-12-ish moons ahead of the latest page because in the beginning, it was a benefit to be able to get a few extra chunks of new drama once in a while to get myself really invested in the characters... But I'm already deeply attached to these characters now, and I've realised I now get extremely anxious to open the game in case all my setup gets immediately ruined by a random wipeout event :'D So I'm working on getting a bigger backlog in the future!
For action poses specifically, not really, unfortunately;;; I just kinda wing it and hope for the best :'D Your best bet is to look up references and go from there
I use Clip Studio Paint! It's unfortunately neither free nor cheap, but it is pretty dang good in my opinion!
As for tips on how to get better at drawing digitally, unfortunately all I can tell you to do is practice. I'm really not all that good at articulating my process otherwise :')
1) You don't have to draw specifically cats! You could always just design your clangen cats into something else that you're more confident in drawing! :] OR drawing a cat comic could prove to be great practice for drawing cats <3
2) I will admit it's a little bit of RNG, but it's also a LOT of picking and choosing things to make your own narrative out of whatever the game gives you. For example, Clangen would've never generated the feud between Puddle and Mousegrove as it is in the comic by itself, that's something I had to string together with what few interactions they had. I dig a lil deeper into how I document SporeClan in this post here if you're interested!

At first I'm a bit confused on why Sun acted the way he did, since yk, he usually is friendly(-ish) with new ppl! But this time, he's a lil awkward and a bit unsure. That is until i finished it ofc. If i looked it back, it does seem that Dahlia kinda basically saying that Sun's power is not strong enough. And Moon even agrees. Honestly? I can't blame Sun for getting upset by that. Plus no one can blame Sun abt it, ik no one did but still. He was Atlas's apprentice for a very short time, didn't even got to learn most stuff, he's been training alone, doing things solo plus helping Charlie with her powers. I understand Dahlia means well, yet i also understand why Sun doesn't like him that much. For first impression, when you attack somebody's weakness first, kinda makes it jelly. Ik he's a blunt person as said, but doesn't exactly justify anything to me.
I imagine Sun was actually trying not to cry as he left. We never exactly get to see him directly mourn over Atlas. The first emotion he felt when Atlas died is anger. Which is valid ofc.

For the most part, everybody is pretty mutual. In my AU, they all basically helped Lamb defeat the bishops in the first place. So they've already have earned their "respect" to a small extent.
I haven't thought too deep into the individual relations in a while, though I will add once I remember and figure it out!
lets see..
Leshy is double sided, as in my AU he has the ability to shapeshift (to an extent)
So he's either pretending to be a normal small lil follower guy who's nice and sweet.. OR being an cocky asshole, with a bit of anger issues.
I suppose he is always nice to Kid though, due to him and Kid sharing the fac they're the youngest in their respective families. Has a soft spot because of it.
Hekket is more on the mutual-ish side? While she randomly starts fights with random people (mainly Narinder), she's more willing to adjust to a more "easy" lifestyle. I imagine she was pretty calm before the fight with Narinder, and is trying to adjust back to that. Though uh, does have anger issues, not as much as Leshy though (Mostly she fights for fun).
Kallamar I haven't fully decided yet. I know he's surface level nice, but like, gives a lot of back-handed compliments. Usually not on purpose, however. Like, he still sees himself as higher then most to an extent.
Besides his siblings, however. He's trying to once again get back on Hekket's good side.
-Ewe is a bit meaner twords him, just because she knows it'll work. One of the others (Ram or Goat) usually get her to backdown though-
Shamura is a calm, and occasionally says very deadpan jokes. A bit spacey, though keeps their composure. Of course, still has heavy memory problems which actively effect them.
Narinder on the other hand is kinda, sassy idk. He mostly sits in his tree and occasionally talks shit to the others. He's still a bit sour about his defeat, and mostly has no interest in interacting with anyone else or participating in cult activites. Eventually he will ease up some, seeing this more as a retirement then anything.
-Him and Lamb do NOT get along (my au is not a narilamb au, so there's no romantic tension between the two, no slowburn, etc. Just, bitterness and egos/hj)
-Goat kinda sees him as like, a literal giant ass cat and mainly tries to pet him a lot. He mostly goes along with it, especially since it pisses Lamb off that he'll listen to them and not Lamb.
-Kid also sees him as a sorta uncle, and often likes hearing stories from him (and the other bishops too)
-Ram often tries to get him to participate in activities, which mostly fails unless he offers Narinder something he can't refuse.
-Ewe and him also don't get along, but more in a passive aggressive way. My Narinder does have the fashionable trait, however, so they do (Secretly) bond over their love for the artform. You wouldn't be able to tell, however, if it wasn't for the random new outfits he wears at times.

I will also note that all the bishops + Narinder got recruited all at once at the same time.
My AU also works of swap logic, so Goat had a Shamura, Ram had a Hekket, etc.
They all recognize that the bishops here are different then the ones back in their original cults, and try not to dwell on it too much. Besides Ewe. Ewe bullied her Kallamar,,, and this one too.
