I try to always leave a review, but sometimes I wait till I read more. Now I saw that you got 140 notes on the chapter?there's so many great fics that doesn't have that many notes&they're not complaining. you're not the first writer with quite a few readers &notes that I've seen complaining. "it's for free, appreciate it, we don't own you anything" but the readers do? No we don't. Nobody's forcing you. I do hope you get more feedback&I hope you see my message as an honest opinion and not hate x

no, nobody’s forcing me. i don’t owe you anything, that is also correct. but in my humble opinion as a fellow human being it is common decency to at least say thank you to the person who provides content for you to read for free. but hey, agree to disagree!

and i knew someone would bring up the notes. i agree that many, many great writers don’t get nearly as many notes as they deserve and that is just so unfair. i totally agree. but let me break it down for you:

a chapter gets 140 notes. there’s no way for me to know if all the people who have liked/reblogged have actually read the chapter or if they’ve liked it or not. let’s say 40 of those 140 notes are actually people who have read. on average, i have received ten messages for the last couple of chapters, sometimes a few more, sometimes a few less. that is still a lot of messages in comparison to what others get, yes, but in comparison to how many people might have read it’s ‘nothing’. just a simple thank you would be appreciated, you know?

we don’t owe each other anything but mutual respect and if for you that means reading for free without giving anything back then you, my friend, are not my kind of pal.

i, too, hope you see my message as an honest opinion and not hate!
