Yeah you gave me your heart now I'm here for your soul
this is such a beautiful shot. goodness. it almost feels like a dream.
i have to say, two episodes into the faifawine arc, i think this is the best storyline so far. they executed the base of their relationship so well in my opinion. also, faifa and wine feel so solid and grounded in their beliefs. they're loveable individually, more so when together. i don't know. i'm so pleasantly surprised. i like their story so much. it feels so them. the editing. the pacing. everything feels so right. i'm enjoying their arc so so much <3
Paddy Mayne vs Stirlings
Toskovat' perfumes make me understand why Fragrantica people are Like That.
It started out as morbid curiosity, after reading that one review of Age of Innocence about being a pretty car crash victim... I had to know what the hell that perfume was about, and bought a sample. And suddenly I find myself Getting It. Anyway. Today I smelled my sample of Desert Sermons and this shit slaps. At first it smells kind of like dirt... And incense. Sexy, but a little filthy. A hint of sweat and shame on a wad of cash. Shame as a sexual concept. It blooms on the skin and it's suddenly like daddy's dirty money tucked in your waistband. And what settles smells like the ghost left behind after an illicit affair with a rich man in the back of his luxury vehicle right before he dumps you in a shallow grave in the middle of the Arizona desert. It smells like ill gotten wealth loved you and left you for dead, and even from your grave you can still smell him on you, and as it fades gently, it makes you miss him. It smells like the soft first memories of him spoiling you and how gentle his hands were. A story of betrayal told in reverse.
I very very much get why Fragrantica people are Like That. Also, as a note. Toskovat' perfumes really are something special. They're not just perfumes but an... expression? There's an art here, that maybe you might want to dismiss as pretension out of hand, because it seems absurd, but two times now, the scents from the Extrait de Memoire collections have been so transportive. I encourage you, even if you're not a scent person, to read some of these perfume descriptions and the scent notes because there is something truly bizarre and unique going on. Scent memory is our strongest kind and I think there's something truly beautiful about communicating one's own feelings and memories through scents. https://www.toskovat.com/product-category/extrait-de-memoire/ Also, if you *are* interested in sniffing these for yourself, I highly reccommend checking out Scent Split, they're a small decanter that will sell you little sample vials for around $8. They have a lot of the Toskovat' collection available to purchase in a 1ml sample vial.
He can slap me across the face with those hands of his and I'll say thank you
I'm an adventurer, just like you.
I wrote my first Sydcarmy drabble. Please clap.
