i keep thinking about the pattersons and how they probably, even if it was only for a split second, got their hopes up as they saw the police car pull up by their house. how they for a second thought this was it, they had found him, he is coming home, only to then see the police walking out of the car alone and how their world shattered as they realised what that meant. that luke would never come home again.
