Baby Steps
TITLE: Baby Steps AUTHOR: Dr. Leo M. Marvin, M.D., Ph.D ORIGIN: What About Bob? (movie directed by Frank Oz, 1991) The groundbreaking book from Dr. Leo Marvin, one of the east coast's leading psychiatrists, on how to lead a more controllable, livable life. "Baby Steps" is about setting small, reasonable goals for yourself, one step at a time, one day at a time. Setting doable, accomplishable goals allows you to overcome seemingly insurmountable problems, bit by bit. For instance, don't think about the whole problem of tracking down your psychiatrist who is on vacation upstate with his family. Deal with finding the address he's at, then deal with getting on the bus, then accidentally ingratiate yourself with his family, then so on. Baby Steps. (Courtesy of Dr. Leo Marvin, for $29.95.) I. What About Bob was one of the first movies he worked on, and he went on to create illustrations or concept designs for movies like Sleepless in Seattle, Se7en, X-Men: The Last Stand, Iron Man 2, and Tron: Legacy, as well as several Star Trek properties. I highly recommend other designers follow Dochterman's example of posting high-quality scans of any fictional books they design, because it makes my job here just... so much easier. Screenshot:
