Am left gentle in my reverie, adrift
On an ocean of thought, of gentle touch
Of such disguises for our penance
To come home to you down a long path
To tread softly on the carpet and embrace
You as we both smile, aglow like candlelight
Hold you as a friend and as another
As a flame and as a lover
As a scholar who has studied your truths
That you'll be waiting as I walk
Through the dandelions and the dockleaves
The briars and the nettles grasping at me
As I see you, as you are, but uninhibited
I want to make you smile without fearing
That you'll see me for what I have been
I want to know you forever
As we build a life in the dim dawn
As we grow old in the noonday
And as the sun sets over us, hands clasped
