he hadn’t let her leave her side since she got back. losing her had been hell. for his three thousand years on this planet, nothing had hurt as much as losing her had. the original had suffered so many losses in his life, but none of it compared to losing his mate. his other half. it was six months of complete hell. it had become rare to see the usually happy wolf smile. he spent most of his time struggling to keep busy and breaking down completely only when he was alone at night.
he had been staying at her place. both to avoid his family and because her scent was everywhere. seeing her unfinished painting had hurt him, like pouring salt in an open wound. but now that she was back. . . now that he was taking her home.. he had no intentions of letting her go again. they stood in silence. words weren’t needed as they stared into each other’s eyes. bringing her hand to his face, he kissed her palm softly, before lowering it slowly. “ i need you. ” he spoke. needed to love her, have her in his arm, to catch up on everything that was taken from them when she was ‘ dead. ’
