                    the first thought that came to his mind was CAIUS. was his brother okay, he had to be because brayan was obviously in his house.. his next thought was EVERAN. oh god everan! remember that FEELING that went through his entire body when everan was in pain before feeling him fall. it was a moment he never wished to feel again. where is he?! is he okay!? his mind screamed. he could feel tears fill his eyes despite them being closed. THE PANIC was overwhelming.

but then there was pain, SO MUCH PAIN.   t o o   much pain. something was wrong. he should have at least been healing already. but then memories flooded his mind. it had been so bad he couldn’t even shift back without an immense amount of pain. it was as if her could hear himself screaming again. the sound was deafening. he felt himself groan in pain, but couldn’t hear it. everything was just too painful all he could was his own heart racing and his mind SCREAMING. his eyes finally shot open and he instantly regret it, closing them again. breathing hurt. but now that he was awake, he could feel himself start to SLOWLY heal. “ everan ! ” his voice cracked ad was filled with pain. he knew he was weak, but he also knew ONE of his siblings would hear him. he needed to know if they were all okay.

                       he   had   helped   her   get   here   ,   promised   to   check   in   , see how it all went. confronting the woman who gave you up couldn’t have been easy. the vampire knew HE hated the woman, anyone willing to give up someone as amazing as kalei didn’t deserve her. “ i’m not going to push– i’d never do that to you. ” he started, looking at her, his eyes soft. “ but i’m here if you wanna talk about it. ” he had agreed to help her because, whether he chose to admit it or not, his own mother had meant a lot to him. kalei deserved answers, deserved to find this person and see for herself if it was the right choice. 

he was never this soft, ‘ i’m always here for you ’ type. neither was she, but here they were, together, sitting watching the stars. her leaning against his shoulder, him holding her hand. the vampire would NEVER be the first to offer comfort to someone. but for her, for her he’d do it without hesitation. 

       after he spoke, the two just sat in silence. and for the first time in over a hundred and fifty years, jaxon, no sebastian, thought about his family. how lucky he was, how he gave EVERYTHING up for them and regrets none of it. he wanted her to have THAT.
