B1A4 will get lost in the woods while on the way to their god-grandmother's house. They wander and wander, slowly losing patience with each other and growing more afraid of their fate as darkness closes in on them. "Okay, I got it, it's definitely this way," Jinyoung says for the ninth time. They follow him anyway, shortly ending back up where they started. Heaving a collective sigh, they sit down to plan out their next move. As they ponder, they hear a rustling in the bushes nearby.
"Hello boys," says a wolf as he saunters insofar as a wolf can saunter out of the foliage. "You seem to be lost. Could I be of any service?" He circles around them amiably.
"Yes!" they all shout simultaneously. "Could you tell us the way out of here? We have to get home so we can sleep before tomorrow's schedule." Baro briefly balks, wondering if the others realize they are talking to an actual wolf before mentally shrugging and accepting it. He's seen weirder.
The wolf smiles insofar as a wolf can smile. "I can do better. You see, the way out is quite complicated, and, even if I told you, you'd probably just get lost again. No offense," he adds at their indignant expressions, "but, you understand, it has already happened once. And we can't have you strolling around here at night, of course." He sits, tail swishing behind him, and grins insofar as a wolf can grin.
"Oh, for sure," the boys say. How lucky of them to have met such a kind wanderer, they think. Gongchan wonders why there's a wolf in Seoul, anyway—actually, why are there woods at all? Oh well, he figures. Doesn't matter now. "You lead the way!" The wolf smirks insofar as a wolf can smirk and gets up, followed by a trail of idols.
Hours later, they still follow, Sandeul wondering if it's just him or are the trees getting more densely packed as they go? He nearly trips over a root while distracted by thoughts and concentrates on keeping up. The wolf had been humming show tunes insofar as a wolf can hum show tunes after their attempts at conversation fizzled out. "Hm," he muses, "it seems to be getting quite dark. You boys up for staying the night? I wouldn't want you walking around in the pitch black streets. There are dangerous things out there."
CNU thinks about that time he almost got mugged while walking at night but then it turned out that the mugger was just a little old lady and she didn't actually come that close to him at all. He knew how dangerous she could've been, though. He knew. He thinks the wolf clever insofar as a wolf can be clever with this comment. Wise beyond both his years and fur.
The boys agree that they cannot stay. "Our manager is probably worried," they say, trying to remember if they actually left that note they meant to for him. Oh well, not like anything bad could happen to them in the woods, right? "Are we nearly out?"
"Nearly out of something," the wolf snickers insofar as a wolf can snicker before faking a cough to cover. "No, actually. I believe that we got turned around some ways back. Quite embarrassing, I do apologize."
"Oh, that's okay. We can find our way out probably!" B1A4 starts tromping off in a vague direction with renewed and utterly unwarranted confidence. The wolf shrugs insofar as a wolf can shrug and makes to head them off a distance ahead.
Night falls quickly thereafter, and the boys struggle to see. The moon's light does not reach them for the most part, caught up in the tops of trees far above them. It is so dark that they do not notice the wolf until his eyes flash by the remnants of glow that reach them. "Delighted to see you," he growls insofar as a wolf can growl—quite far—and stalks closer. "Delicious," he says before lunging. The boys sprint off, miraculously avoiding obstacles, noticing a break in the trees in the distance and the lights of the city, but the wolf still closes in. Sandeul finally chucks his shoe behind him and knocks the wolf out cold. They stop, confused, and then meander back toward their dorm.
Baro breaks the silence. "I guess next time we shouldn't wear these red hooded capes, huh?" They laugh awkwardly and wonder what restaurants are still open.
