One of the teeny character choices that I think about frequently is the fact that in MK9 Lord Raiden is shown to have the ability of flight. Yet one of the only times he ever uses this ability is exclusively during battle.
And sure, it could just be a matter of "we can't have Raiden constantly levitating/flying during storymode". But I like to think of it as something that grounds him, as a way of showing he chooses to remain on the same level as his humans.
