Q: Fans have noticed that you seem to be especially close with rookie group Femme Fatale these days. What's the story there? A: It's no secret that we're close. The girls of Femme Fatale are juniors I've watched grow for a good while now, and at some point, I took them under my wing because they reminded me a lot of me when I was their age. Since then, they've gone from being my protégées to something akin to family. So, nothing to worry about, my dear InPulses – they're my daughters, nothing else. (laughs)

For the longest time, theirs are clear skies no matter the weather outside – clarity and peace, natural and all-encompassing. An understanding beyond comprehension is found in perfect silence.
The rain starts as a drizzle, he knows that with certainty, but he can't name a single moment he noticed the warm droplets of water on his skin before it was already a downpour. The world looks different when it's wet all over, even though nothing has really changed. It's an opportunity for flowers to grow, but if it doesn't let up, they might as well drown before they had the chance to.
Then, without warning, comes the storm, violent and raging, plunging everything into chaos. Where do they go when their place of shelter becomes the most dangerous of all? There's no choice but to weather it, stand strong and wait for it to pass, but what will be left once it's over, and what will be swallowed in its wake?
Who will they be when the smoke clears?

Excerpts from Ahn Moonjin’s trainee journal
Day 2645 I catch myself smiling more often these days. That doesn't mean that I actually smile more, per se. It means that there are moments I'm doing something, anything, and when I spot myself in the practice room mirror, I have a smile on my face. Odd...
Day 2689 I'm home. I'm still more than two hundred miles from Busan, but this I can confidently say: I'm home.
[ AMJ aesthetics 2/∞ ╾ the best friend ]
with @fmdtokki
What is a 'best friend'? It's a question Moonjin is first confronted with in elementary school, bolded letters staring back at him from his homework assignment. “Mom says it's bad to play favorites,” he writes and leaves it at that. It's a concept that puzzles him – why would any one friend be better than the others? It isn't until someone calls him that – best friend – during his time as a trainee under Dimensions that he thinks he's beginning to understand. His best friend is the one he spends most time with, the one he laughs with the most. There's always that uneasy feeling, though, like something doesn't quite add up, like he's using the right formula but the answer comes out wrong anyway.
What is a ‘best friend’? He knows now, and yet he still can't think of an answer he'd be satisfied with. It's someone who looks at his poker face and sees everything it's trying to hide. It's someone who doesn't force him to voice his thoughts when he doesn't want to, when he can't; someone who does the talking for him when he needs it but also someone he doesn't need to use words with to reach a mutual understanding. It's someone whose light accompanies him through the brightest and the darkest of days. It's someone who's seen all there is to him and still decided to stay. It’s “We’ll bear it together.” It's Kang Ilwoo.
