THE AUTHORIAL PROJECT : THE BRITISH WEATHER
REFLECTION:
2nd year final project made by me and Joy Wang. We were working intensively on this stop-motion in a short time. The animation is based on our observation of people and weather in Britain. Hopefully the story will be getting across!
The Pitch Project
REFLECTION

As a group of four, we had to pitch the Slaughter House Five by Kurt Vonnegut.
We made loads of footage files and pngs to make our film.
It was so stressful to do this project overall but it was good to get used to AfterEffects.
LIP SYNC
REFLECTION:
It is a group project worked with Sun Jang. We started with the idea of Fish because we both love fish. After we made a storyboard according to the voice clip, Sun did a lipsync part of the fish and I did sea life environments and man lipsyncing part. We worked really hard on this project and I’m quite satisfied with our final outcome but If I had more time I would have done the man lipsync more properly.
LANGUAGE PROJECT
REFLECTION:
It was the final group project on my first term on L5. In this Language Project, as a group of four, we need to create our own word with meanings. Our group members came up with a word and we decided to work on Yelin’s word ‘Tododok’. we did a few animation tests with different methods and finally, we chose to make a projection on the umbrella because ‘Tododok’ means the sound of rain. There were a few failures we had; we bought a transparent plastic umbrella on purpose but it didn’t work so we added a white paper on it. Moon acted the person with an umbrella on the presentation day but the word wasn’t shown clearly. With many difficulties and the process of communication, I loved our final outcome and I was glad to work with great friends.
The Background Brief
REFLECTION:
It was the first moving image project in the Kingston Uni.
I went to Tate Modern to take pictures that would be used as a background of this project. It was the only restriction that I can not change the background. I think it was because the tutors wanted to see how we use the space of the image with our ideas. I chose the artwork hanging on the corner between walls as it seems like a black hole. Through the action workshops, I created an image of hands coming out form the artwork and I made a storyboard based on this. Honestly, I’m not quite satisfied with my outcome. The movement is unnatural and the sound was added on the last minute. However, it was worth to try though, everything cannot be successful and satisfying. I think I can deal with my drawbacks on my next project.
SILENT MOVIE
REFLECTION:
As a group we made a short film with the theme; Exercise is bad.
we did a few experiments and different ideas for the storyboard and the story had changed throughout tutorials. After all, we decided to make a live action film and we took lots of camera angles and test videos. It was hard to do a group project for the first time as the first project of L5, however, I think it was successful and worth.
A girl sees a rabbit running across a field. Thinking it would make an excellent muff, she pursues it with a knife. It escapes her, but her brother kills it....
LIP SYNC RESEARCH RUN WRAKE RABBIT
I like how he uses cut outs and builds this world on after effects and that what i kinda wanted to do with lip sync in the old people’s home using cut outs for the background and layering on top of each other to get a sense of depth by pushing some back and some forward.
