Arianne Martell with a good, floofy dog at Ice and Fire Con 2017
My mom is interested in going to the 2018 convention since it's in Ohio, but she's afraid of being the oldest person there.
We have attendees of all ages at Ice and Fire Con. The age range of attendees is part of what makes our con so special, in my opinion.
In fact, being the oldest person at con did not stop our Old Nan from having a blast. It was her first year attending, and she made her whole Old Nan costume from scratch (complete with knitting and embroidery supplies in the apron pockets) and won a prize in our costume contest. The attendees welcomed her with open arms, and she even stayed out late dance partying with us on Saturday night. Nan’s spirit and enthusiasm at her first fan convention made her fast friends, and we’re excited to have her attend in 2018.
Greg and Ellen AKA Ma and Pa Stark have been attending the past few years and are con volunteers. Their children are furbabies, but they are close in age to a lot of the younger attendees’ parents. They’re an integral part of our convention family, and are like con mom and dad to a lot of us.
These are only three examples, but there are many and more attendees that are likely your mom’s age. She would certainly have people her age there if she feels uncomfortable being the oldest, and the younger attendees would still embrace her. If she isn’t into the wilder nighttime events, there are plenty of attendees who have low key nights in the game room, bar, or bonfire, and I’m sure the pool at our new location. No matter what your style of enjoying yourself, there are people at con with similar tastes. We’d love to see your mom in 2018.

Cleganebowl 2017 FUCKING CONFIRMED.
The performance portion of our costume contest this year continued the Sandor vs. Gregor rap battle that has been going on since 2015. In 2015, we had Dom as Gregor Glegane, The Mountain that Rhymes. In 2016, Monstrous D clapped back as Sandor, thus establishing the rap battle.
Stay tuned for part 4 in 2018.
