my flapjack hc is that if he could talk, he would sound like gilbert gottfried. because every bird ever does
out of all the cool characters, they just HAD to make chaos hard to draw
I’ve been catching up with the [aladdin] series and The Citadel got me thinking — wouldn’t it make sense if the thirdac was after genie, carpet AND iago?
(an image of the thirdac for those you don’t watch the series or may have forgotten [i dont blame you, there’s a lot of creatures to keep track of.])
we all know iago is a talking parrot and that enough should be proof that he’s magical…but one line from return of jafar really seals it for me; “if it weren't for me, you'd still be in a cage at the bazaar, squawking, ‘polly want a cracker!’” — jafar
is there a chance that iago was taught how to speak? of course. am i looking WAAAYYYY too into this? yes. do i truly believe that jafar used magic to give iago his speaking abilities? 100%. iago strives to please his master because jafar was the one to save him from a boring life of an ordinary parrot. the sorcerer gave him something that no other bird has, a voice, something he can use to express himself, to let his frustrations out and be known. he had been gifted with a real voice — instead of just having the ability to squawk and screech at passerby, instead of only being able to say “hello!” or “polly wants a cracker!”.
he was finally free from that life, life of being a parrot trapped in a small, cramped copper cage, only having pellets or seeds for meals. cold nights trapped in the back of an old, broken down wagon were soon forgotten and replaced with the life of luxury.
if only iago knew getting chased by a magic-eating monster would be the result of the spell jafar casted.
thinking about them
after a year of talking about this plush, he is arriving tomorrow. how we feeling thatoneparrot nation?
i think we, as a society, need to talk about how Mask of My Own Face by Lemon Demon fits Jafar
