Hello, dear Katrina, I've been following you for ages, simply wished to tell you how much I love your blog. I also wanted to ask you, since I saw you wrote about it a few times: are there any fanfics you would recommend to read? Any fandom really. It is hard to find something 'readable' in compilations people make here, so I thought you would certainly recommend only something really good. Thank you <3

Omg thank you so much! It’s nice to know that some of you guys have stayed with me all through these years! <3As for fanfics, these are the ones that I highly recommenced. I’ve managed to forget the ones that I loved from my previous fandoms that aren’t Hannibal, but there were a few that stuck out so much that they’re included. This is a very short list of possibly my most favorite fanfics ever. They’re not in any particular order but I am putting the ones I love the most as top 3 and explaining why I love them so much. Forgive me as I don’t know how to explain my feels about fics even though I feel a lot for them. I’m gonna try to explain them as best as I can from what i’ve interpreted from them and from what I remember.

1. Knife and Fork, Hannibal, Will/HannibalI have a love for fics with a quiet and ethereal atmosphere despite the chaotic, base of events that are going on. There is a lack of hannigram fics out there that can convey silence and stillness in the chaotic nature of their relationship, and the tv show actually does a great job with that. I wanted that stillness to be replicated in a fanfic that involves so much more than is shown on the show and this is it. This fulfilled all my wants and the wants that i didn’t even know i wanted. It’s achingly beautiful. 2. From Which Comes All Things, Torchwood, Jack/IantoI have loved this fic since the year it was posted in 2008, so six years and counting. I still have not tired if it. Torchwood is a sci fi show about catching aliens and saving the world. This fic focuses on the science fiction in a more personal scale and how it effects the team (Ianto specifically when he gets more of what he asked for when he took the job and fell in love with a time travelling immortal). It’s also very quiet which and more ethereal than Knife and Fork mainly because it uses such unfamiliar and tangible concepts that it gives you a lightheaded detached feeling. It’s also a great sci fi love story. If you love ethereal, out of worldly things, this is the fic. 3. Drastically Redefining Protocol, Merlin, Merlin/ArthurOkay so basically Merlin is a doctor and Arthur is the Prince of Wales and they fall in love BUT Arthur is a prince and shit occurs because he’s the fucking prince and ugh. This fic makes me happy. It’s fun, hilarious sad, NOT ANGST thank god and just overall really well done. Back then I’ve always thought that the Merlin fandom wrote the best fics out of all the fandoms that I was in, and here’s what I think represents that. The rest: 4. Consenting to Dream, Hannibal, Will/HannibalSummary: Hannibal gives Will pretty things. That’s it. That’s the plot.5. Looks Like Love, Hannibal AU, Will/HannibalSummary: After his sister’s wedding, Will kisses his childhood housekeeper (and first love).6 .The Doll, Hannibal, Will/HannibalSummary: Doll!Hannibal who Will gets attached to. 7. Five Shots, Hannibal, Will/HannibalSummary: “You asked, once,” he murmurs, French slurred but soft, taken up by the wind and carried away. He’s certain he’s heard, regardless, “what you would do without me.”8. Time Enough, Torchwood, Jack/IantoSummary: This is Ianto’s journey. 9. When I Promised You Forever, Torchwood, Jack/IantoSummary: Jack travels through time. Futurefic.
