when asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?

Very enthusiastic! I love writing -- I’ve been doing it pretty much all my life. Sure, when people ask to read some of my work, I only give them the original stuff. There are those who know that I write fic (various friends and my Yiayia), and for them I’m very enthusiastic about it too.

if you could give your fledgling author self any advice, what would it be?

That officious little prick in your first writing workshop? Doesn’t know shit. Don’t listen to a damn word he says.

Lipstick and fic senpai, what are your favorite/most recommended makeup brands?? :0

Oh dear. I’m still very much a makeup novice (you’d be better off asking my sister this question), but I do have some recommendations that you definitely should check out!

Lipstick- NARS (their matte lip pencils are my go-to)- Beauty Bakerie (my new favorite everything)- NYX (the super cheap alternative to designer brands – their mattes are amazing)- MAC (particularly their mattes and semi-mattes)- Jeffree StarEyeshadow (note: all the shadows I own are neutral shades)- Grace My Face Minerals (love love LOVE – read my review here)- NYX ( @tallames has given me two amazing palettes from them)- Makeup Revolution’s Iconic palettes- Lorac (particularly their Unzipped palette)- Urban Decay (the Naked palettes are fan faves and their individual shadows are bomb! I also highly recommend their shadow primers!)- BareMinerals (their glimmer shadows are gorgeous)

Mascara & Mascara Primers- Benefit’s They’re Real! lengthening mascara- Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 mascara- Urban Decay’s Perversion mascara- Smashbox’s Full Exposure mascara- Maybelline’s Volum’ Express Colossal mascara (the not waterproof one)- Maybelline’s Stiletto Ultimate Lash mascara- Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash mascara- Smashbox lash primer- UD’s Subversion lash primer

Foundation (note: I wear foundation maybe twice a year, so my knowledge of it is pretty sparse)- Bare Minerals Starter Kit (I highly recommend this!)- Maybelline’s Fit Me! matte and poreless foundation- Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition (I’ve only used this once, but it was divine)- MAC Studio Fix SPF 15 (I use their Studio Fix moisturizer every morning, too)- Bare Minerals Prime Time foundation primer

5. I don’t have one single thing that inspires me, but I do have things that get me in the headspace for writing. Usually film scores, specifically the complete scores of Mononoke-hime, Inception, and The Last Samurai. I also have songs upon songs that I can imagine certain characters singing (as if they were in a musical) and listening to those songs while writing those characters makes the words flow much easier. I dunno. I tried explaining the musical thing to @ninaitwa once while we were driving to the beach and she looked at me like I had five heads.
