"Thank you for being so BRAVE," my Instructor said. What an AMAZING and incredibly challenging two days! • • • 🤺 I'm the Fencer on the left and Maggie was my partner and Coach, for today. What you are seeing is me learning, weighted down 10lbs of gear and a TON of sweat!! Don't think I've ever sweated as much in my entire life as I did this weekend. • • • 🤺 What a truly amazing sport! I am fencing with a saber sword that is hooked by wires through my coat, to my helmet and plugged into a machine. • • • ❤️ It's an incredible feeling to have experienced a life long dream. It's also cool to say, "Ya, I fenced this weekend, what did you do?" 😅 • • • 🤺 Learned so much and got props for jumping in the deep end and giving it my all. I learned for the first time to trust my body. Which, when you think about it, is a BIG deal!! Gauging my opponent, advancing, retreating and lunge attack all involved trusting my body would be there when I needed it. A truly spiritual and personal experience. • • • 👊 I may take beginners lessons at some point. It's an expensive sport, but totally worth the hype! 🌒🌑🌘 Happy New Moon Everyone!!!!!
