It wasn’t easy but between the two of them they managed. The false ID’s to get them out of the country, finding a perfect spot in the Russian wilderness, a cozy izba with an adjacent shelter between some trees, at the edge of a forest. Not deep in the woods so that cannot land a helicopter but not fully exposed either. A lake in walking distance and a view to die for.
In winter they could see the aurora borealis and in summer the fields were of the most vivid greed and the lake welcoming to cool down the heat.
Brock was making the fire in the stove to make some tea to add to the warmth. Outside it was cold and the wind was whistling at the windows but inside the izba the fire was burning in the stove and the hearth, filling their home with the silence of the fire cackling and the comfort of living without looking over their shoulders.
It has been a few months already and Brock poured tea in two mugs and sat next to Sin on a rattan chair that creaked as he sat down. Gazing into the fire with a smile on his face he murmured “Not that bad, is it?” He loved that they didn’t have a washing machine, a fridge, not even gas in the stove. It wasn’t easy but everyday was full of things to do and never once was he bored in this place.
