#Repost @paulnicklen (@get_repost) ・・・ When someone says the words climate change or climate crisis to you, what do you see or think of? Do you see the loss of sea ice or glaciers? Do you see the extinction of over 1,000,000 species over the next hundred years? Do you see the disappearance of polar bears? Do you see ocean acidification and the complete loss of coral reefs? Do you see grey whales, sea birds, sea lions and other species washing up dead on our shorelines? Do you see a rise in major catastrophes such as hurricanes, drought, floods, storms and other destructive weather events? Well, these are not the thing of the future anymore. All of the events have occurred, are occurring or will occur in the near future. Did you know that of the 410 billion dollars in philanthropy donated to charities in the US in 2017, 32 (%) percent went to religion, 14% to education, 12 % to humans services, 4% to health, and just 2.8 % to the environment. This includes all horses, dogs and cats. Approximately less than 1% of that went to environmental communications. I find this ironic as communication has never been easier and never more important. If there is any chance of protecting our one and only home then we must reverse this pyramid and put our philanthropic donations towards the foundation of all life on earth. #onechance #oneworld #iamnotmovingtomars #ilovethisplanet https://www.instagram.com/p/ByWKFWtJ7dj/?igshid=1123jq1fpt4s0
