Ok, I first started shipping it right after I read the first Daenerys chapter in aGoT. I thought "Huh. Maybe since she's so afraid of Drogo she'll find comfort in Jorah or something and he'll sort of become her main love interest." Then after reading on and seeing Dany fall in love with Drogo I thought I was wrong. By then, though, I was already pretty invested in what I thought was a crack!ship. But once I read A Clash of Kings I was like "OH FUCK YEAH CALLED IT BITCHES" 

my thoughts:

To be honest, though, when I first started shipping them I thought there was something wrong with me--you know, because of their age difference. But once I joined Tumblr I saw there were other Dany/Jorah shippers (few as they may be, but still) and I was like "YES I'm not the only one." And besides, for the time period ASOIAF is based on, romances with huge age differences weren't really all that uncommon. Long story short, Tumblr made me much more secure with my ship.

What makes me happy about them:

Well, I love how devoted Jorah is to Dany. I really wanna go on about that, but it would take FOREVER. So maybe I’ll make a separate meta post on that someday or something. But first I have to learn to not suck at meta.

What makes me sad about them:

How Dany doesn’t return his love… (yet? maybe? PLEASE?)

things done in fanfic that annoys me:

WHEN PEOPLE KILL OFF JORAH. LOOKIN' AT YOU, ANNA

No but in all seriousness, when people write fics for other Dany ships or just other ASOIAF ships in general and paint Jorah to be this perverted monster/general bad guy.

things I look for in fanfic:

Embarrassingly enough, I like the fics where Jorah’s all obvious about his love for Dany… like, maybe he gets shy or he blushes a bunch, or maybe he shows jealousy and gets angry... or maybe he just comes right out and confesses his love, even… I dunno, I just like notsubtle!Jorah a lot.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: 

Hmm… for Dany, I think the only other person I’m really ok with her ending up with is Irri… just ‘cause Irri/Daenerys is the only other Dany ship I can think of where Dany’s not with a complete asshole, or someone who dies… you know?

As for Jorah, if he can’t be with Dany, I really just want him to be happy on Bear Island or something. I don’t really care who he’d end up with, just so long as he’s happy.

My happily ever after for them:

Dany and Jorah married and living on Bear Island. Dany’s not Queen but she’s the Lady of Bear Island and that’s enough for her. And they have sex. Lots and lots of sex. The end. Also Tyrion comes to visit often ‘cause he and Jorah are bffs 5evar.

who is the big spoon/little spoon:

Jorah’s the big spoon, Dany’s the little spoon.... I mean, you know... duh.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity:

Hmm... horseback riding, probably? Reminds them of their days with the Khalasar... or something, I dunno
