The Stratford Zoo Midnight Revue Presents Macbeth Review
Because this is a Graphic Novel we’re going to have a different rating system from the novels. I will be rating the Artwork, the Story, the Characters and the Emotional reaction. It will still be out of 10 stars, but most of the stars will be for artwork.
The Stratford Zoo Midnight Revue Presents Macbeth (Stratford Zoo Midnight Revue #1)
Illustrator: Zack Giallongo
The Stratford Zoo looks like a normal zoo... until the gates shut at night. That's when the animals come out of their cages to stage elaborate performances of Shakespeare's greatest works. They might not be the most accomplished thespians, but they've got what counts: heart. Also fangs, feathers, scales, and tails, in The Stratford Zoo Midnight Revue Presents Macbeth.
☆☆☆☆ for Art // ☆☆ for Story // ☆☆ for Characters // ☆☆ For Emotional Reaction
The art was absolutely adorable for this book. All the animals were drawn so well and it was a wonderful for the children audience it was intended for.
The story was a great PG rated version of Macbeth. Kid friendly in every possible way. I mean sure, Macbeth ate everyone but he did so with a lot of ketchup and everyone got barfed up in the end. It even did a good job of getting kids into Shakespeare. I would have loved to read this when I was younger.
The characters were pretty standard. They were pretty much Shakespeare’s characters except kid friendly which was the intent. I think my favourite had to be the king owl, he was so loveably stupid.
☆☆ For Emotional Reaction
It had every response I was supposed to make. I laughed when I was supposed to and was shocked when I was supposed to be. It was great!
