Iann: I encountered Aden at the Carnival

Sofia: I think she had a nice time. I did.

Sofia: Everything seemed so much smaller than I remember it. Though, I'm sure it's just that I've grown about two and half feet.

Iann: we need to talk

[Iann almost typed out ‘I’m so sorry’, but he felt an angry rush of despair and indignation. What did he have to be sorry about? It was the fucking demon, not him. It wasn’t him.

When he texted again, his hands trembled slightly.]

Iann: we can meet or stick to text. up to you, Prof

Sofia: We do. This is good for now.

[Sofia felt guilty for the feelings that flooded her system with the response. As much as she wanted to see Iann in the flesh, she couldn't be sure how she would react. So, instead of risking humiliation, she hid. Old habits died hard. It was cliche but definitely true.]

Sofia: This sounds so stupid. But are you alright? ...you hit that tree pretty hard.

[Obviously Sofia knew that was about the least of Iann's potential damage but they had to start somewhere.]

[The phone buzzing repeatedly caught her off guard and annoyed her to no end when she realized it was just going to keep going. Luckily she was already awake. 'Ever heard of a complete, cohesive thought?' she was tempted to write back. Iann was a new acquaintance so she didn't feel she had that liberty.]
