Hi, I loved your post of queer fiction for 2014, but I was wondering if they were suitable for my 13 yr old sister? She recently came out to me as gay, and she loves romance fiction, but obviously most couples are heterosexual and I want her to feel as comfortable as possible, so I was going to buy her a couple of books, but idk if I could give her anything too sexual. Thank you xxxx
I’m not sure which post you mean, but if you’re looking for romance without a lot of sex, YA books are your best bet.Annie On My Mind by Nancy Gardner is a classic YA romance, and one of the first queer books I ever read. Ash by Malinda Lo is a retelling of Cinderella with a queer girl protagonist - if your sister likes fairy tales, I highly recommend it. Ask the Passengers by A.S. King is a quite recent YA novel that isn’t quite romantic, but has a loving relationship and is a great read. The House You Pass on the Way by Jacqueline Woodson doesn’t have much romance at all, but it’s a great book about queer girls for younger teens.I have not read The Miseducation of Cameron Post or Everything Leads To You, but they have both gotten some rave reviews. Everything Leads to You is supposed to be particularly romantic! I know Julie Anne Peters has written a lot of books about queer girls also, and she has a new one coming out this month.I hope this helps! Readers, feel free to make more suggestions!

thanks! Yeah, that's because when I originally made my blog, it was thinspo.
The only thing that sucks is I have to go fix all my pages. They're currently broken hahahah :(
