the ib's (unofficial) guide to an all-nighter
knowing how rigorous (torturous) the ib and how often it leads to all nighters, i thought i would create a guide based on my experiences!!
okay, here we go: 1. DO NOT start on coffee right away. no matter how much you think you won't you WILL crash. instead, drink water and switch to any form of caffeine at around 12-2 am, and instead of chugging, take SMALL sips. additionally, try to keep it under 400 mg
2. snacks snacks snacks. keep your snacks handy. for me, having something small to eat periodically helps keep me awake and on task
3. walk around !! get up and walk around basically every hour (if possible). i promise, you will notice the difference almost immediately right after sitting back down
4. this one's just a personal thing for me, but if you listen to music while you work, play loud/noise music, it keeps you awake.
5. horror game play throughs. it sounds stupid, i know. but the jump scares do wonders to keep you awake. i'd really suggest amanda the adventurer (starter level: poppy playtime). keep one running in the background with the audio !!
6. this is for the day after, but try and get some naps in during the day, and go to bed as early as possible.
and lastly: try not to pull all nighters. they honestly should just be a last resort. they're really not good for you. if you really have to though, space them out throughout the week.
that's all and good luck!
