The solution was Luthite, a synthetic material that has a specific gravity which is similar to that of wood. It was developed and patented by the Westheimer Corporation in 1996 and provided Ibanez a suitable basis for a series of chrome-plates JS models. The JS10th was finally introduced in 1998, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of partnership between Satch and Ibanez.
