Happy IBCLC Day!
A blessing for all IBCLCs today: May all parents be empowered to make healthy and unhindered infant choices. May they be supported and sustained by friends, families, and health care providers. May every baby be born healthy, wakeful, and alert. May each child open their mouths like baby birds. May their frenulums be loose, their jaws unclenched, their palates smooth. May every areola be soft and graspable. May every nipple evert readily without pain. May every working parent receive paid family leave. May every baby's genitals be left intact and unmodified. May every well-meaning night nurse know what cluster feeding is. May they all be supportive of their patients' exhaustion. May they have a few minutes to demonstrate hand expression and cup feeding. May you all have a lovely IBCLC Day, today and every day.
