#IBDaware
I noticed a lot of your activities on social media about the IBD awareness week (Dec. 1-7th). This made me think about what I want to do to participate. A poster? Daily blogging about my life with IBD? ...But I do this whenever I want to or feel inspired by something that happened in my life. So I finally decided to do nothing special on social media BUT start an experiment in real life: I will answer the question: "HOW ARE YOU?" honestly. Not only for this week but from now on. Maybe not every time and to everyone (because all of you know people in your life you just don't want to talk to at all) but definitely more frequent than I did in the past. Today - for example - it would sound like this. Random person: "Hey, how are you?" Me: "Exhausted and feeling old and stiff because my arthritis is flaring lately." Random person: "But you don't look sick!" Me: "I don't know if you know about make up?! Also I took 6 pills with my breakfast to be able to come here..." I think the dumb random people are the ones we want to be more aware of IBD and not the already aware IBD community on social media. Maybe you could start this experiment with me and we can share some experiences we'll make while being honest. The good ones and the bad ones. I think this could be fun.
