While you're very correct that polyamorous relationships can be plagued by many of the same troubles that affect monogamous ones, I have to say that your dismissal of the idea of "monogamy culture" is blatantly misinformed. I'd recommend checking out the book Sex at Dawn, a lot of research on the development of the popularity of monogamy and how various cultures view relationships structures was put into it by it's two authors.
